Pankaj Giri was born and brought up in Gangtok, Sikkim—a picturesque hill station in India.
He began his writing career with a book review blog, and after several years of honing his
writing skills, he wrote his debut solo novel The Fragile Thread of Hope. The e-book version
of the inspirational fiction novel was selected as a “Top 5 Finalist” in the Amazon Pen to
Publish Contest 2017 and received critical acclaim worldwide.
The paperback version—published in late 2019 by Fingerprint! Publishing—also got an
excellent reception, a 5-star rating from the renowned literary blog New Asian Writing being
the highlight. It was a commercial success, too, selling more than 4500 copies. In July 2020,
Pankaj won Best Author (Fiction) at the Indian Literary Awards 2020. He has also been
